"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Bob Lanning. I'm here to tell you about making a train diorama in HO scale. Now, here's the village of Cottonwood, which fits in to our general scheme of things because, even though the railroads went into Cottonwood, it was a very important area for us here, and everybody likes to see where they live when they come in to look at our diorama, so we've copied the village of Cottonwood as it was around the 1950's. Cottonwood actually had it's hayday from about 1920 to the late 50's before a lot of the newer stores came in. But, it's still a bustling tourist area. The town is still under construction, we've got about half of it done, we have one side of the street, and we're going to be doing the other side next by using the process of using old photos and photographs of buildings that are still existing and getting the proper materials through, a fellow of our club uses Adobe Photoshop and he pastes those textures right on to the paste board buildings and it gives a very good effect by having the actual materials that we're on the buildings and we use period photographs to make our signs and various things that were proper for that era."
