"Hi! This is Kevin on behalf of Expert Village talking about how to avoid razor burn and razor cuts. I always put on lotion after I shave. Once again, you want to find something with quality moisturizers and natural ingredients like natural oils and aloe vera. Different products are going to work for different people, so by all means, try a variety of different lotions. See which one works on your skin. A safe bet to start with though is aloe vera, as it helps most everyone. Vitamin E is also something that's very often used in skin treatments and healing skin. Finding a lotion that contains vitamin E might promote faster healing in your skin. That's something that you're definitely going to need if you have to shave day after day after day and your skin needs to constantly rejuvenate quickly. What about aftershaves? A lot of aftershaves contain alcohol. What's the problem with alcohol? Remember it dries the skin out. We're trying to moisturize the skin and not dry it. I would recommend against aftershave, unless you find one that does not contain alcohol and it really soothes your skin. Cologne also contains alcohol, so you want to keep cologne away from your face. You can put it behind your ears or maybe lower down on your neck. You don't want it on your face, especially right after shaving because it's going to dry your skin out and it can really burn."
