"Hi my name is Jim DeYoung I am here in Salt Lake City, Utah at Fat Cat's Bowling Center. You can see us on the Web, fatcatsfun.com. I am also here on behalf of expertvillage.com. One thing I am going to teach you right now is how to read the lane. One thing is when you are in a league and you are taking some practice shots, you want to grab like your most aggressive ball that you have and you want to throw it and adjust from that shot. So I am going to throw one shot and I am going to adjust from their. So what happened on that shot is I actually hit my mark, I threw my ball how I should throw it but it ended up going high in the pocket. So, that ball in a game or two would actually not work cause the lanes would actually become drier. So I am going to switch balls, I am going to throw the same mark, but I am going to throw a ball that is not as aggressive. so the same thing basically happened on that one. I am going wind up having to use a dry lane ball to adjust to this shot. The oil right now is at a short pattern. So it is only about 30 feet down where the oil is at. And so, in a couple of games it is going to become really, really dry. That?s a good way of learning how to read the lanes and how to adjust to the shot."
