We're going to do some drills that will be good to warm up before practice or before a game. They will get the guys stretched and warmed up. The first drill we're going to do is called a high knees drill. You want to stretch out the backs of your legs and get your knees up as high as you can. This will also help you in form running. We want to over-exaggerate the arms and pump them when we go. This is what it looks like when the guys do it (video demo). Really pump those arms. Get those knees nice and high in the chest. Those are called high knees. The second drill we're going to do is called butt kicks. You're going to work in the reverse. You're going to pump the arms and hands, but this time we want to see if we can get our feet all the up in the middle of our backs. You really want to over-exaggerate that to warm up your quad muscles. Let's show what the butt kicks look like (video demo). You can go at any speed; you can go quick or slow to get a good stretch. This last one is really hard to do and is called a combination. You're trying to do the butt kick and then bring it up into a high knee. You'll come up from behind and then kick your knee out. This one you have to do slowly to make it work. But, this will stretch all your muscle groups in your legs. Let's show the combination (video demo). They're coming up in the back and trying to kick out in the front, up in the back, kicking out in the front.
