Another piece of technology that has come about is a product called the endotine ribbon. It is a flat little ribbon about a quarter of an inch wide and about six or seven inches long. It has little spikes in it or little tines like on a rake. We create a tunnel behind the earlobe, down along the front of the neck and put this ribbon in and we introduce the ribbon in the tunnel and then we press the ribbon in so that these little ribbons grab the muscle. We can then pull on this ribbon so that it pulls the tissue up and we can tack it down behind the ear and fix the tissue up. And what this does is it elevates the tissue, it tightens it up without having to dissect and undermine all of this skin from underneath the skin and the jaw. Now this little ribbon is not permanent. It dissolves in about ten or twelve months and the scar tissue that is left behind actually holds the tissue up. So that is an eloquent little mini-neck left that is being done now for neck lifts
