Photoshop Tutorial: Magic Wand Tool to Delete Background

"Now that we've got that finished, let's go ahead and start modifying our photos and blending them together. As we can see here, we've got Miss Portman here. Let's choose my layer here. Here we go. We have Miss Portman here and we have this apple that's been bitten out of. So what I want to do is take both of these Layers. I'm just going to Shift-Click those and let's put these in a new folder because I like keeping everything the way we want it, where we're going to need it. Let's go ahead and name this one. And go ahead and name our apple. Now what I want to do is I want to take this bite selection of this apple and place it right over but first let's get rid of this white background. So we're going to go into our Wand tool by clicking W. And as you can see it select everything except for a little shadow under here. Let's go ahead and delete what I got going there first. And let's hit Control-D to Deselect that and let's click in this gray area here. And as you can see my Tolerance in my Wand tool is down really low so let's turn my Tolerance up and let's say, let's put my Tolerance on 50, just to see what I want to select there. There we go. That looks pretty good. Let's Deselect that. Let's click there. Deselect that. I mean delete that, I mean. Command-D to Deselect, there we go. Our apple is modified out and it's complete apple like so. So now I want to put this bite mark right here. And you know what? We're going to do this in the next part so let's pause here and we'll come back to it."
