on 8/2/2008 Hi Matt, I.ve been trying to broadcast a mix direct from my pc, but I cant get it to actually be heard on another pc. Now I followed various peoples advice and got as far as downloading icecast and oddcast.v3 which I use through winamp and set all that up so the url in winamp is localhost:8000 etc etc and it plays through there on my pc but when I tell people to go to the url that it indicates on the virtual dj screen under the start/stop button in broadcast, no one can seem to connect, now I did hear of something to do with port forwarding along with various other things and just dont seem to be getting everything 100% so if you know how to do this or could advise in any way, maybe one of these help clips, it would be much appreciated, thanks for your time dude . . .Lee Isaacs

"Hey everybody, my name is Matt and I'm speaking to you on behalf of Expert Village. Alright, if you come down and click the "record" tab underneath your mixer it's going to take you to a screen that looks something like this. From here, you can record your performance in Virtual DJ. Over here on the left, you've got a couple of tabs that you can record your performance to a file, you can burn it to a CD, and you can even broadcast it over the Internet. If you click the "config" button it's going to bring up some options. You can choose just to record your Virtual DJ performance, or if you click on "master plus Mic" that's also going to record whatever is coming into your computer through a Mic if you have one hooked up. You can choose where to save your performance at, and you can also split it into multiple files if you want to by clicking that button. You can also choose your format, from here you can only choose mp3 but you can select the bit rate. Click "ok" whenever you have that to your satisfaction. If you click "broadcast" it will give you a couple more options you can also choose to output to OGD format. You can also setup on a server if you're into web casting. You can also burn through CD like i said. I'm gonna Click "record file" and hit start recording. If you haven't chosen where to save your performance yet, it will give you a dialog that lets you choose from here. I'm just going to save it as performance, and put it on my desktop. It automatically starts recording. Whenever you are done, hit "stop recording". Here is my file, you can open that. As you can see it recorded my performance including all the samples and effects that we've already learned how to use."
