"Hi my name is Sarah and this is Halibut, and I am one of the exotic technicians here at Extra Care Animal Hospital, and on behalf of Expert Village.com, I am going to provide you with some helpful information on owning a rabbit. When you are looking for a new rabbit and you are picking one out, you want to make sure that your bunny has nice clear bright eyes. There should be no discharge from the eyes or the nose. One other place you want to look that will tell you if your bunny has any respiratory issues is the inside of the wrists, because rabbits are very clean little animals. They always clean their face with their front paws. So if there is any discharge and you are not seeing it on the nose or eyes, you will see some on the wrist area. Other things you want to check for is to check the ears, make sure there is no discharge or crustiness in the ears. You want to make sure you don’t see any discharge or crustiness around the nose. You always want to check and make sure you don’t see any buildup of poop or anything back here around the rear end. And you always want to make sure that any bunny you consider purchasing has a good healthy hair coat.
