"Ok, so now you have your baby bearded dragon. You've taken it home, set up your reptile enclosure, you've got your heating, your substrate, all that's ready to go. So how do you not kill the thing. Well, there's a couple of important things to remember with baby bearded dragons. Firstly, they tend to have trouble drinking. They're not the smartest little creatures in the world as babies, and as they get larger you'll see that it doesn't seem to change over the course of their life. However, they're not going to recognize standing water at first. You need to spray the reptile down in the morning and preferably in the evening as well, as much as you can to hydrate him. You're going to get yourself a garden variety spray bottle like you would use in a garden or for plants in the house, make sure it's never been used for anything before. You can buy it at your local grocery store for a couple of dollars. Fill that with water and you?re going to mist the reptile down until he's dripping from the face and starts licking his lips. What your ensuring there is he's getting a little bit of hydration. Also, you need to be concerned about overfeeding, it's very important to baby bearded dragons, they like to eat. They're little pigs and they will eat and eat and eat, and they will eat themselves to death. You need to have a very strict control on the amount of cricket intake on a daily basis because if they eat too much, their bellies will expand, cut off their spinal cord, and cause paralysis, and possibly even death. So, make sure you're not feeding anymore crickets than space between their eyes, which is roughly the size of their stomach."
