"Hello! I’m Stephany from Stephany’s Simply Sewing. We’ve now gotten to the point where we need to pleat our sleeve. These pleats are marked by solid and dotted lines. What we’re going to do is fold on one of the lines like this, and then bring that fold over to the dotted line right there. Once we’ve done that, I like to pin both edges of that particular fold just to secure it. We do have one more to do, so once again, fold on the first line and you’re going to bring it over to meet your second line. You’re pattern directions will tell you which way your folds are going to face. For this sleeve, they’re going to face the opening down towards the placket. Once you’ve secured your pleats with pins, you’re going to want to simply baste across that in order to secure them for putting them on your cuff, which will be our next step. Once again, hang on to those thread tails so you don’t end up with a tangle, or keep your machine in reverse. Sewing is such an adventure when you have things that you forget. That is how we pleat our sleeve in order to prepare it to for putting in our cuff."
