" Hi! This is Ginny with Simply Beautiful Crafts on behalf of Expert Village and today we are going to make a very fun non-edible candy heart valentine wreath. If you are going to put any kind of food on a pretzel ring, you need to make sure that you do it before you varnish it or shellack it or however you are going to seal it. So, what I did was to take a box of honest to goodness candy hearts and placed them around on my ring until I liked the way they were distributed on the wreath. This time I did not leave room between the holes in order to bring the ribbon through because I wanted to do this with it. Once you have placed your hearts on there and you have them the way you like them, you will want to use Elmer’s glue or white glue. If you use your hot glue it may or may not stick, but your white glue will. So, you are going to put your little dab of glue on here, put it on and then hold it until that glue has dried a little bit, because they are heavy and they will tend to slide off. Once you have done that, then you are going to seal your wreath. I like to dip mine in polyurethane or varnish or shellack because I know that it gets into all the cracks and crevices and really seals it. Once you have done that and it is completely dry, then you are ready to put your ribbon on. What I did with this wreath instead of weaving the ribbon through was to put a bead of glue, this time you can use hot glue, hold the end of it, get it cool and then just twist it a little and it will make these delightful little curly cues and you can lay them down wherever you want, put another little bead of glue and then go on all the way around your wreath and then you have an effect like this. So, as you can see I did it kind of up and back on this wreath, poking it down in sometimes and laying it on top and then I made a simple one loop bow, put it at the top, and then I made a streamer for the bottom by taking the ribbon like this and securing it from behind and then I made another one loop bow on top. I didn’t embellish this with candy because it isn’t shellacked. Once it is finished, you can leave it as it is or you can play around on your computer, find valentines cards, find wrapping paper and you can put something behind that has something romantic on it or you can copy the words maybe from one of your candy hearts and put it in here, giving it a 3D effect and also looking like a candy heart. Then, the very last thing you want to do is to put some kind of a hanger on the back, so that you can secure it and as soon as that is cool, your candy heart valentine wreath is ready to hang."
