"Hi, my name is Chemin Alldredge. I'm a third degree Black Belt and I'm here with Expert Village. Today we are to be going over women's beginning self defense. Alright, mace and pepper spray are great ways to keep on hand. It's a safe method to keep with you for self defense instead of carrying a gun or a knife or something. What I have here is just a basic mace. It hangs onto my keys so that I have it with me at all times. It also has a clip where I can hang it onto my belt or my lapel. This mace has a safety. As you see, there's no hole right there. And on the back of the mace here is a little tab. When you have your mace on hand, what you do is, it's all single hand. You just turn your tab around and then you spray into the air. You want to make sure that you have a good angle. The mace is great. So if my attacker comes to me and he's at a safe distance and I know that I do want to get away because I know that I am going to be attacked and I don't want to use any force with my hitting or kicking or anything like that. Mace is a great way to just spray. You can also use it as a threat. But, I recommend not using it as a threat because then they might grab the mace away from you, attacking you. So, if something happens, you want to make sure that you spray. If it is a windy day, please make sure that the wind is not blowing to you, because when you spray the mace, the mace will come straight back into your face. "
