"Hello, I'm Alan with Expert Village. Choosing your beads and what you're going to want to do is the first thing that you have to do in your project. Now I find that it's easier if you have something in mind, but if you don't again, go back to your magazines, take a look at what's there, and find something that you like. I find that most ladies when you're talking about their jewelry, they like to match them to the clothing that they're wearing or they like to create accent pieces for their outfits. So keeping those in mind, take a look at the beads that are available in the craft stores. The come in many, many different variations. You can buy whole kits that are available that have just dozens, and dozens of various beads so you can mix and match them any way you want to. If you want something just a little more uniform, that has a little bit more continuity to it, then you might need more beads then just a random selection. So then you can go in to the store and you can actually purchase larger quantities of specific types of beads to use for your project."
