"After you’ve cut the piece of carpet, I want to show you how to install the test strips on each individual step. Now, after you have your carpet cut, you just want to lay it in place. Make sure it fits right and it’s not too long. And you tuck the bottom edge in behind the next piece of carpet, behind the lower piece of carpet. And wrap it around the step. Make sure that it kind of catches on some of the tack strip. And then you’ll need to get yourself one of these, which is just a hand held carpet stretcher. And you just place it a half inch from the wall and hit it with the handle of a hammer and tack the carpet down onto the tack strip…hopefully- as long as your tack strips are good. And that would be how you would install each individual step on a staircase. "

on 8/2/2008 Could use a bit more info on fixing/positioning tack-strips, and the joint betweeb the last carpet piece and one being fitted. Otherwise helpful.

on 8/2/2008 This guy has no idea what he is doing, I have been a installer for 25 years and have never seen any one install like this. First of he does not describe how he got to this point in the video.
second the tool he is using is not used, a stair tool and carpet kicker is what is used.
He did not even streach the carpet and it would be lose on the step.
This guy would be fired from the first job he did like this.
