"These crocks that we are looking at today we are going to take a look at this one in particular this is a Whately crock here and you could see that it is signed and script which is very rare to find. Most of the crocks that you would find are stamped like this from a stamp a uniform stamp. But this was signed probably by Maria Crafts Kellogg put here her husband signature on here during the time frame that she was a potter producing these pots in around the 1851-1853 period. You can see it has a women's touch to it with the decorations it is highly stylize with flowers and sometimes there is one on a particular book that this man wrote about Whateley crocks that has a dove on it. Which is not unusual with this type."
