"Now, let's consider the cards the starting hands of Texas Holdem. What are the premium hands? Well, the mac daddy, the best hand of them all is Ace Ace. If I look down at my two cards and I see these two cards poking their head up at me, I don't care what the other players play or what the other players do. I'm staying until we see the flop, and if I have to bet all in before the flop to see it, that's what I'll do. Because this hand has the highest percentages before the flop comes out, of winning the hand. And moreover, let me say this, I once played in a free tournament locally, now it was free, but I had somebody fold this hand pre-flop, and show me that he was doing it. Texas Holdem, if nothing else takes courage. Play this hand with courage. Next down from Ace Ace, is King King, the cowboys. These guys can be played virtually as strong as Ace Ace. In fact, unless you see a scary flop, a flop that has an Ace in it, play these Kings all the way to the end. Queen Queen, almost as strong as the big boys. But lets be honest, there are two hands that you are worried about if you have a Queen Queen. If you're in a tight, a very tight game, and you look at Queens and you raise, and the person to the left reraises, and the person to the left of him reraises again, it might be time to muck those queens. But most of the time, you can play these very strong. Jack Jack. Take what I just said about the Queens and multiply it three fold. Jack Jack is a borderline premium hand. Play it with a little bit of care. And finally, Ace King suited. Ace King suited should almost never be thrown away preflop. Matter of fact, if you think you are up against Queen Queen, and you already have chips in the pot, and you've only got fifteen or twenty big blinds left, go ahead and commit with Ace King suited. And those are your premium hands. "
