"The three cue ball position shots we've been working on stop, follow, and draw have all been with a straight in shot. In other words, our cue ball and our object ball have all been lined up straight. Therefore we've been able to execute the shots, getting the cue ball to stop dead still, or the follow to follow along directly behind the object ball, or with the draw getting the ball, cue ball, to come back straight back towards us. But, what happens when we apply those actions, that forward roll, that sliding action and that back spinning action on a cut shot? Is it going to do the same thing? Are we going to be able to stop the cue ball directly? No. We're not going to be able to follow directly behind the ball, or we're not going to be able to draw straight back. So, what we have to start doing is experimenting with these and seeing what kind of actions do we get. Well, let's start with the stop shot. Let's slide this cue ball into that contact point, but at this angle right here and then let's watch where it goes. It went over to the right because it was a left hand cut shot. Let's take a look, now, see what happens with the follow stroke. Follow stroke, the cue ball goes over here. Now, let's see what happens with a draw stroke. The draw stroke, it comes back over to this direction. What do we need to know that for? We need to know that for positioning the cue ball. Now we can use a follow action, a sliding action, or we can use a back spinning action to send the cue ball to different points on the table."
