Series Summary

Artists who twist and shape balloons into shapes such as animals and other various toys are known as balloon modelers or balloon twisters, and are usually contorting long, cylindrical balloons into said shapes for entertainment purposes such as children's birthday parties or celebrations. Street artisans and clowns are popular balloon modelers, and though the practice might seem benign to those who don't have the skill, but the art of balloon shaping requires a fair amount of skill. While some modelers use a single balloon to create their animals or shapes, many use multiple balloons. Those who have been practicing the art for any serious amount of time or have gained the appropriate skill level usually don't restrict themselves to one type of twisting. For most of us, balloon art is best appreciated at a circus or fair, as a child's face lights up with happiness upon realizing a simple balloon has become an animal or toy just for them.

In this free video clip series, our expert will demonstrate a variety of shapes, animals and toys made with balloons. Follow along at home as he explains the basic techniques for creating balloon art and helps you learn, step by step, how to re-create his exciting creatures at home for your own kids, or for entertainment purposes. Learn how to make everything from swords to swans in this collection of useful how-to balloon modeling videos.

"Hi, I'm Jeremy here on behalf of Expert Village. I'm going to teach a little bit about balloon making. Right now we're going to talk about what kind of balloons to buy and rather to buy the brand variety or the cheaper variety. Really depends on what you want to do with it. If all you want to do is your son's birthday party and you are going to be making a sword, you can use any balloon you want. Cause you are only going to be doing it three times to make the worlds simplest sword. Now if you are going to do something more like our little alien embryo here, you are going to want to hire a quality of balloon cause if you try and use something like this with a cheap balloon you are going to be covered in water. Now the most the kits you can buy at the stores unfortunately they come with the cheaper variety of balloons, the ones you get at the Dollar Store. If you want higher quality balloons I suggest something like Belotex is what I use although Belotex is also very good. If you are going to start doing balloons, what you should probably do is get yourself a bag of both qualitex and belotex hundred to two hundred fifty count and go ahead and try see what you like better try a few designs and that will take care of it."
