on 2/16/2009 I have some questions about pokémon.
I have a deck, do I HAVE to use a strategy? or can I just play the way I like?
Is there any rules, when I build a deck (Like if I have to make a specific combination, Or things like that)
I'm a beginner so I'm not THAT great.

(Sorry for my bad english, i'm from sweden)

"So let's talk a little bit about who plays Pokemon. I have seen everyone from five year olds come to play to 30 to 40 year olds. Parents really like it if they get into it with their children. I myself am a young 30 years old and this is y Pokemon collection and yes I do play it at home and I am quite proud of it. It is a very fun game. It is a great game for adults and kids alike. It is not as simple as one would initially think and it has got a lot of skill to it. You have got to plan out your deck, you have got a lot of strategies to learn. There is a lot of counting involved so math is definitely a factor. There is also a lot of reading as well so you plan out which Pokemon you need to use and all the other parts that make up a deck that would make you the winner. Alright let's talk about how to start Pokemon. Let's say your young one or even yourself are interested in playing Pokemon. What do you need, how do you get started, there is a lot in there? The first thing I would recommend grabbing is one of these. This is a starter deck. This comes with many many different things including a fully playable deck to get you started. There are many different kinds of starter decks. You can get them based around different Pokemons. This one is Darkcry. It comes with all the energies, trainer cards, which are those right there and of course, Pokemon. This is my favorite part of the starter decks and I think that every player should always have one of these. This is a play mat and it tells you everything you need to know about playing the Pokemon game. It tells you right here on this map. It tells you where everything needs to go, your discard piles, your deck, your prize cards which we will talk about later, your bench. It also tells you on the side here all the different special conditions which are part of the game so it is right at your hands while you are playing and if you have any questions all you need to do is refer to your mat. These come in the starter decks so that is why it is such a good buy when you first try and start playing Pokemon. We have also got damage counters, special condition indicators, and a fun little coin with a Pokemon on it that you use to flip between turns and also the instruction book. There is a card list inside on the one side of it that tells you all the cards that come in this set. This set happens to be Diamond and Pearl grading counters and on the other side you have got a complete comprehensive rule book that can get you started. Any other rules or questions you need to know you can always check out pokemontcg.com."
