"One of the most powerful maneuvers in the game of hearts is shooting the moon. Taking them all. Now if we look at these cards this is a moon. Now your not likely to have all these hearts and the queen of spades in your hand. You may not even have the queen of spades. But one thing is for sure, there are two ways to shoot the moon. Actually three, but we'll talk about the primary two ways. Number one, you could have a rip snorting heart suit that looks something like this, maybe not even with the nine, but a low one in it. And you've taken the queen of spades, and your on lead. Just rip it off the top, ace, king, queen, jack, ten. That should clean up the whole suit, unless somebody?s got six of them. And you've made the moon 26 points for the opponent's or some people play you can subtract 26 points from your score in the tournaments we don't allow subtraction. Until somebody?s 74 or more in a 100 point game, so you don't have unnecessary subtractions. There's another way to get to the moon too, you can take, you can have a hand that has all winning clubs and diamonds, no hearts you know you don't need any hearts. Somebody throws the queen on you and you got all the big cards of diamonds, let us just imagine that this is the whole diamond suit, you got all the big clubs too, right. We'll assume that the ace has been played, you've got an absolutely killer hand right. After three tricks have been played, and your on trick number four and it's your lead. You don't have any hearts in your hand or you wouldn't have the deuce of clubs."
