"Now it's time to decorate the kite. We're going to be using some permanent markers, and I chose an image of a lion that was just found on a book around the house, and I thought it would make an appropriate decoration for a kids kite. So we're going to first trace around. This basically is a step that just leaves very open to anyone's creative talents. It could be any image; there's no right or wrong here, but you should definitely put something on the plastic, because it is pretty plain. Even if you use a colored piece of plastic, it's nice to have some type of image on it that can be seen. So we're just using some regular permanent markers, and we're going to go ahead, and first trace the shape. After we've traced the shape, then we'll be able to go ahead, and fill it in with whatever colors we want. So we're just going around the edges right now. We see the plastic is able to absorb the marker really well, so the image will really stay. So we see what a difference a picture can make on a kite. Once we've finished tracing, now we're ready to just fill it in with colors, and it makes the project definitely more fun to do, and it also makes the finished project much nicer to look at.
