Video Transcript

"DUSTIN STAAT: Hi. I'm Dustin with Expert Village, and today I'm teaching you how to softmod an Xbox. In this segment, I'm going to show you how to load your new operating system using a copy of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. Now, you can get a copy of this game on Amazon for about 50 cents, so it's extremely inexpensive to do. Go ahead, open up your Xbox, insert your game. From there, it'll load it up. Once your game is loaded up, you can go ahead and click "start game." Go ahead and click on "Linux." From there, you want to go to "check points." This will start to load up your new operating system. First option you're going to want to pick when you get to this menu is create your MS backup. Go ahead and do that. Say yes. This will take about 20 seconds at the most. After that's finished, go ahead and go to the next option down: "Create Mod Backup." Say yes. Again, this will take roughly 20 to 25 seconds to do. When you create the mod backup, you've just done something extremely important: you've backed up your EE prompt file. This is the file that basically connects your Xbox hard drive to the individual Xbox. Watch our next segment on loading the new operating system, part 2."
