Summary: Learn how to attach the bottom of a bird feeder plan from an expert birdhouse builder in this free yard crafts video.
"Next step now, we are going to put on the bottom. I'm going to put a bottom on this. We are going to extend the bottom out probably about three to four inches past this here so that when we put the feed in; there will be a place to catch the feed out here for the birds to feed on. We will measure this as we've got six inches, so we will make the thing, let's make it nine inches. We will cut another piece of wood about nine inches long and that looks like a good piece. And we will put it on. We will do the same, we will nail it on with the brad nailer and like I say, we can use screws later on. So, it's going to look like this right now. We will go ahead and glue it. Try and get it as square as possible. Now we've got the basic feeder, what we are going to do is make a lid here so that we can open it up. Then we are going to put a border around here to hold the feed. I think that next thing we will do is put the little border around here. You can either put it on the outside or the inside, but I am going to put this one on the outside because it is so much easier for people to do this way."
