"Hi I’m Rick Wyckoff and you can check out our website at avatart2.com and I am here on behalf of Expert Village.com and we are talking about tattoo machines. Basically this is a modern tattoo machine that consists of two electromagnetic coils: a series of springs and armature bars. It has a small capacitor on the bottom side here and a contact. Basically the way the tattoo machine works is a current comes into these little points right here on either side. You can see where I connect a clip cord, and when I hit this foot switch, it charges these electromagnetic coils which pull the armature bar forward simultaneously breaking the connection here and allowing the armature bar to return to its previous position and it just repeats that cycle over and over again. Through this little hole here, we attach a tube that has a needle inside of it that attaches to this armature bar and it’s this armature bar moving back and forth from the first to second position over and over again rapidly that makes it so we can tattoo with it.
