"Hi, my name is Mary Thinnes and I'm a skin care expert. Now I'm going to discuss with you post, post steps that you want to take after you've already gotten your peel. For forty eight hours you want to basically avoid extreme temperatures. And by extreme temperatures I mean you don't wanna be putting any ice on your skin or your know slapping freezing cold water on your face or extremely hot. When taking a shower you want to avoid sticking your face in the, you know, the hot stream of water. And the reason is that extreme temperatures will activate acid and it will actually start, start the process all over again after you've already done a peel. And so it can actually do the reverse and you can actually get a deeper peel and you have no way of neutralizing it when you're at home. Also you want to avoid saunas, steam rooms, just like I said before its the extreme temperatures that you want to avoid for forty eight hours. So that means even working out because internal heat will cause, can cause hyper pigmentation which are those brown spots from the sun that you are trying to avoid. So it can actually do the reverse and actually cause damage. It can activate the acid again just like I was telling you before heat activates acid. So no working out for, you know, seventy hours generally after getting a chemical peel. And then you also want to avoid when blow drying your hair, don't stand there with the blow dryer directly on your face. Blow dry away for like forty eight hours. The first night after getting a chemical peel its preferred not to wash your face. You can wash your face the next morning. But don't be using any harsh chemicals, even your lightning creams for hyper pigmentation. You want to refrain from using those for about seven to ten days after a peel. So you don't want to keep combining more chemicals on top of sensitive skin that's already been peeled. So that being said those are the post instructions for chemical peels."
