"Hi my name is Mary Thinnes and I'm a skin care expert. I will be discussing now proper home care for mature skin. If you've determined that your skin is mature, like I said, generally speaking, mature skin can start in your mid thirties and, you know it goes up from there. Just to reinforce the fact, that mature skin their fine lines are more prevalent. So you want to find products that are actually going to hydrate the skin properly. Because if your skin is hydrated properly, the fine lines become less pronounced. For instance if you take a sponge, and you have a dry sponge, you can notice all the ripples in the sponge. What happens when you wet a sponge with water? It actually blows up and expands, so those little ripples are less pronounced. That's what happens with our skin as well. With mature skin you want to stick more with cleansing creams, like I had mentioned before, the one that doesn't suds that a sensitive skin type would use. And just to show you again, it doesn't, it doesn't suds up so it's not going to be like a regular cleanser. Most people think that in order for their skin to be clean it has to suds, and that's not true. The Sodium Lauryl Sulfate which causes cleansers to suds will perhaps, is a drying agent, so it will actually cause mature skin to dry and we ant to get away from drying because that's going to cause aging. And that's what we're trying to prevent obviously with mature skin, we want anti-aging products. So definitely look for something that may contain Hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is not an acid like Salicylic or Alpha- Hydroxy acids it's misleading because Hyaluronic acid has the word acid in it, but it's not. It's actually a moisturizer, Hyaluronic acid is found in our bodies, so it actually is a plumper, so it's going to naturally plump the skin and help with those fine lines, but also hydrates at the same time. I did have it. Here's the pure Hyaluronic acid and it's actually a clear solution so as you can see it's just going to hydrate the skin. Or plumps it up. And that's a leave on. It's most likely going to be found in one of your moisturizers, but it would be great if you could find a cleanser that actually had some Hyaluronic acid in it as well for the mature skin. So that would be for the mature, the products that are appropriate for mature skin."
