"We talked about some up dos but now I am going to just simply show you if somebody wants to let their down and curly or just in a flip. This is something that is common and it is used. You can now have that layered look by simply taking the iron and I am going to flip her hair up, put some hair spray in it. Farah has a lot from before, so we are just going to flip it up like that. There is a curl and flip and then take another piece here and I am going to show you; I am going to push this out like this. Now I am using a Marcel iron but you can use your regular curling iron as long as it has a big barrel. You can use a plug in iron ceramic or you can use this right here to make that effect. If you want more of a curlier look, you can just simply twist it around to give that curly look; just give it that curl. I will use the ceramic iron to show you know. If you want that look right here, just want to take it, bringing it in like this, twisting it around, just do that one more time. When I was finished with the curling iron and I used also this flat iron right here, this ceramic iron, I got this look right here and this is exactly what it is supposed to look like when we use a regular style, that is just completely down, fancy and it just has a lot of curl in it. Again using that ceramic iron doing that curl effect that I said before, this is the result of it when it is all set and done. This has been Liz Muller from Liz’s Hair Design in Hollywood, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village.com, we would like to thank you."

on 8/2/2008 I'd like to thank you, too, Ms. Muller! I was shopping for a curling iron, and it wasn't clear at all to me, even after reading product descriptions of heated marcel irons with cords, how the product worked. I had heard of the "marcel" wave, which was before even my time, so I knew it wasn't a new concept. When I did the right Google search, I found your description of the stove heated marcel iron. Soon after, I found this description of how to use it to put together a completed style. This was extremely helpful.
It's now clear to me why marcel irons are recommended for professional stylists.
It's also now clear how I can sensibly use either a ceramic iron with a spring or a marcel iron, depending on my skill level and what I need to do.
Thank you so VERY much!
Bravissima!
