Summary: Obviously, before you apply fake nails, you need a clean nail bed. Learn how to remove old polish for acrylic nail application in this free nail care video from a professional nail technician.
"The next step in prepping the natural nail for acrylic application is to remove the polish from all ten nails. Even if they don't have polish on, you just want to double check. Go over it with some polish remover acetone, just to make sure the nail bed is nice and clean. If they're wearing a dark color, you may need to go ahead and get a new piece of cotton ball out and put some more acetone on and finish taking it off. If it's a light color though, you should be fine with just one piece. Just keep rotating to a new piece on the cotton ball to make sure that you're not getting any leftover polish up on the nail or under it or on the finger. After you remove it, just go back and double check all ten nails. Make sure that there is no polish underneath the nail. If there is, go ahead and just clean that up also. And that is how you remove the polish from all ten nails in the application of acrylic on prepping the natural nail."
