Series Summary

Why design fashion for models? According to J.P. Prewitt, famous hand model of Bulova fame, models are genetically constructed to become something great: “They’re in peak physical condition. They can gain entry to the most secure places in the world. And most important of all, models don’t think for themselves. They do as their told.” It seems only natural to want the fashion you design to be hanging on perfect limbs and torsos. Because of the popularity of shows like Project Runway, and others, fashion design has become a fad readily consumed by our tweenagers and teenie-boppers.

In this free video series, expert Lauren Bradley teaches you how to make fashion sketches useful in the fashion industry. You will learn to draw bodies and shape garments in proportion. Lauren also shows you how to draw from croquis and how to add texture and shading to your designs. Drawing fashion can be very rewarding, and Lauren gives you professional tips.

And I also sketch ideas that I have so I can make my own clothes. So hopefully I can shed some light on sketching fashion. So, If you have an idea in your head, then you can map it out in paper and the hopefully make it into a hard copy garment into a real thing. So, I?m going to show you what you going to need to do to start sketching fashions, sketching all those ideas in your head. In terms of sketching fashion, you?re going to need a couple of things. I will next go over what you're going to be needing to accomplish the task of sketching a fashion idea."
