"Hi, my name is Julia and this is my model Kim from Extensions by Julia on behalf of Expert Village. Today we are going to be talking about hair extensions. (Can anyone get extensions?) There are a few people that I wouldn't recommend getting hair extensions. One, people who have been through chemotherapy, who are just getting new hair in, it is very fragile and you probably don't want to do fusion right away because it could cause more breakage and you are trying to let it grow out. So I would give it a good year until your hair feels nice and healthy before you actually go ahead and get extensions. Now again, the product that I use is extremely gentle, so we could possibly go in before a year and put a few through just for thickness. Now, another person you wouldn't want to use it on is somebody who has very chemically damaged hair, especially a lot of women who bleach their hair. Over time you are going to have very, very damaged hair and by putting fusion extensions in, that is not the part that is going to cause damage, it is the removal that is going to cause damage cause your hair is too fragile and when you are taking it out it is actually going to break your own hair. So those people I would actually take some time off from chemically processing it or putting any hair extensions in and let it grow back before you do them. (So is it dangerous at all if you want to put extensions in for just a special occasion?) No. Special occasions are okay, if you want to go to a wedding or you have a special occasion that you need to go to and you just want long hair for that time, this product I use is the best for that because you can take it out right away. After I've done Kim's hair, I can actually take them out right away without causing any damage. All the other products on the market, they are so hard and so difficult to take out. You actually have to wait about 4 to 6 months before they start softening and breaking down before you can actually take them out. If you try to take them out before that, it causes so much damage. But with the fusion bond that I use, you can actually right after a wedding take them right out. If you also apply highlights that you are interested in getting, let's say you want to go pink for Halloween or something or for a party and you want to do a bunch of pink around the face, you can come back to me in about a week, we can take those pink ones right out and we can replace them with your natural color again.
