How to Texturize Hair Using Scissors

" Hi! My name is Dawn Shannon for Expert Village, owner of Intuition Salon and Spa and I’m also a hairstylist. Now I’m going to demonstrate how you can texturize at the top of the hair with a pair of scissors. Again, I’m going to start in the back and we’re going to do just little pieces because we want to be very careful not to get little hairs poking up when she styles her hair, working in order. We’re just going to look for areas that might have a little too much bulk in them. Sometimes in some spots I might work my way up in a brick layering fashion; still being very careful while I do this technique. Again, I look at the customer and I look at the haircut and I’m going to analyze the shape again and I think for this particular style that’s going to do it for texturizing up at the base with the scissors."
