"Okay, after you apply your gel, you are going to want to tie down the braids. If you have a long scarf, just go ahead and tie it in half and fold it in the front so that you don't have any seams pressing against the forehead and just lay it down on top. Don't be afraid to press or pull and then all you do is just tie it around in the back. And then just get it to lay down right on these braids. Pull it tight, but do not hurt them, but having this scarf on top of the braids is what is going to make that gel grab all that hair and make it lay flat. Whenever you go to sleep, it is best to wrap your head. That way you don't cause any friction your hair and your pillow case making all those little hairs stand up. I prefer silk because there is less friction between the silk fibers and your hair then there is with the cotton. The cotton is a little bit more course. Cotton is fine, though, it is a very breathable fabric and it does hold that gel just a little bit more. The longer you leave the scarf on, the better. Let that gel dry all the way. That's how you will keep your braids in great shape."
