"Okay, models. What you need to know is the fade is our third turn we're going to learn today, and the fade works for men and women. It's the most professional turn that is currently used. If you're in Nordstrom or some of our more popular department stores, you're going to notice that our international models are just using the fade, so I want you to watch how the fade works for men and women. I'm going to catwalk up, and almost go into a pant layout. Notice that the left knee's bent, the right leg's straight, and as I move open to the right side, I'm going to use the right foot as a lead off and come back to the beginning of the ramp. Watch it again, I'm using the fade. I'm walking up, bending the left knee, keeping the right leg straight, twisting back and just a little push off with the right foot to get back in place on the ramp. I'm walking up, I'm bending the left knee, and I?m opening up. Look at the distance I have between my legs. It's a pant layout, basically. Moving back, a little bit of a turn back, and then a turnout in order to get to the top of the ramp. I'm going to do it one more time. Watch the catwalk, one foot in front of the other. Here's the pointed left knee, straight right leg, turn back and the push off back up to the ramp. That is a fade that men and women can use. Watch how the men do it just a little bit different with a different attitude. As the men walk up with their feet side-by-side, they don't quite spread the feet like the ladies do with the pointed leg, they keep it more natural and relaxed, and then they pause so they get that last look in the camera. They keep that attitude, that power face. So one more time. I'm going to walk up with my feet side-by-side. The men spread their feet just a little bit, slight turnout and peel back up to the ramp. What you want to notice is the attitude that's used throughout these different fades: the woman's, with the overlap and the catwalk, she's going to point her left knee, add a little drama to it and back up she goes; the man keeps his feet side-by-side, less turnout, doesn't point his knee, turns back and moves up the ramp in a very calm manner. Now you've seen the fade for men and women."
