"This next segment will discuss insurance for you convention. Do you need insurance? Yes, you absolutely need insurance to protect you in case someone gets hurt or cover you from liability. The first thing to do is, always make sure and make sure it's contractually written, that the hotel has their own insurance. Most hotels will, I can't imagine hotel not having insurance. But make sure the hotel is covered as well. On a personal level, you should probably do something to protect yourself and that's incorporate or create an LLC, something so that you're not personally liable if something were to go wrong at the convention. And that's not as difficult as it sounds either. Certainly there are organizations to do it, for example, here in Florida, there's an organization called SunBiz and you can go on and for very little money, you can incorporate yourself or create a limited liability corporation. And that will actually protect you from any incidents that might come up. But certainly, make sure that the hotel has insurance, and certainly make sure that you are not liable, personally liable for anything that may happen."
