"So Steve, when did you decide to switch from regular massage to taking care of the elderly? Well I received an inquiry from my website about an individual one wanted me to take care of their aunt, so I started taking care of this young lady, she's 82 and she had a broken hip and her feet were in such case she didn't have use of them. So after taken care of her over a year, I decided that this was a passion of mine and I went to get additional training through a voluntary organization called Heart Touch and Heart Touch works with individuals that are either elderly, ill such as cancer, HIV, aids and infants that are in critical condition or suffering from cancer as well. So the organization is consist of all volunteers and we give up our time for a minimum of a year, you can do more and serving individuals that normally will not get the attention from these types of volunteers otherwise. So it's been extremely rewarding and now I'm very passionate about the cause of the elderly and ill and so I'm utilizing this opportunity to spread the word and show that they need to be cared for as well and not neglected. So what has been some of the most dramatic results for people that you have seen with your technique? Generally what happens is I'm able to provide them a sense of relief from their daily frustration of being trapped in their body and trapped in their environment. I've had responses where individuals have broken down crying just because they appreciated what I've been able to do for them and to be touched with compassion is something that these individuals have been missing for quiet sometime, it's not just something that stumbled upon them. They have been ill for a number of months or a number of years and even before their illness as people get older they tend to not get as much attention from friends and family. So to get this type of compassionate touch just evokes so many emotions and feelings out of individuals that helps them both mental and physical level."
