Video Transcript

"For somebody trying to live drug free with ADHD, a big point of advice I would have for anybody, ADHD or not, drug free or not, it's so important to exercise your body. It's so important to get regular exercise. I recommend at least a half hour, five out of seven days of the week. Not only does exercise improve how you feel about your body, improve how your body looks, and is healthy for you in terms of heart health, lung health, and just in overall good feeling. Exercise causes the releases and creation of dopamine in the brain. Dopamine is are feel good chemical, and in ADHD our pre frontal cortex's seem to be less active than other pre frontal cortex's, and dopamine increases the activity of the pre frontal cortex which can help with our mood, and help with our focus, and help with ADHD symptoms all the way around. So, I personally feel that a key component of treating ADHD, with our without drugs, especially without drugs, is to have regular exercise thirty minutes, at least five times a week."
