"For people with hearing loss, when considering treatment, there are a variety of things that you need to consider. A hearing aid is an important part of that treatment, but it is not the total solution. A hearing aid will improve your hearing, but it will not make your hearing normal. And sometimes there are situations where other devices are needed to augment the performance of the hearing aid. So hearing aids are not the total solution. They're one part of the solution. But there are other areas of people's lives that they need to consider, and there are other devices that may augment those situations. What I have in my hand here is an alarm clock, or it's a vibrating alarm clock. And with hearing aids, one of the common issues that people run into is that you don't wear your hearing aids to bed. So at night you take the hearing aid out, and in the morning, quite often, people don't hear their regular alarm clock. So what we have here is a vibrating alarm clock. And the way this would work, you would set your alarm as you would with a regular alarm clock, close that, clip this to your pillow, and place this disk under your pillow. In the morning, or whenever you've set your alarm to go off, this starts to vibrate. And so the vibration wakes you up, rather than it being an auditory alarm. I would recommend this to anyone that is struggling to hear their regular alarm clock. With most alarm clocks, the alarm is quite a high frequency tone, and that's the most common area where people have hearing loss. So this device, because it doesn't rely on an auditory signal--it's a vibration--people find this much more reliable at waking them up. "
