"Hi, I'm Dr. Tammy Ruefli on behalf of Expert Village I'm here to talk to you about food allergies and how to deal with them. What is a food allergy? A food allergy can be described as a negative reaction to a certain type of foods you have eaten. Some of these reactions can be as severe as nausea, vomiting, intestinal pain, or you may have hives and rashes such as psoriasis and eczema. Other food allergies are not as severe you may only experience sneezing, watery eyes, generally a hay fever type reaction. You may not even know it but that wheezing feeling and that chronic fatigue could be caused by a food that you have eaten. More severe allergies such as hives can be life threatening. If you experience reaction you may need to go the hospital and seek immediate medical help. If you are experiencing anaphylactic reaction your heart will start to raise, your blood pressure will start to drop. I myself have experienced that and had to ride in an ambulance to the hospital. You will be advised to have an epi pen on hand in case if you have that type of reaction again. "
