Hi, my name is Dr. Steve Minors of Rehab Effects in Austin, Texas and today we're going to talk about the applications of cervical, nonsurgical spinal decompression. Here we have our patient who is own the spinal decompression table, all set to go. And, we're going to go ahead and get her strapped in. Want to make sure she is nice and comfortable. You want the straps to be as firm as possible but not to be so uncomfortable that the patient can't relax during the procedure. You then get these clamps to go in as close to the area involved as possible. So for example if there is a C4, C5 disk, we come in there. If there is a disk that's lower, we try to move the clamps down a little bit lower to affect that area. How does that feel? Great! Next, again depending on the area that's involved here, the area of the cervical spine that's involved here, that determines the angle. The area that we're trying to effect, you want to get it at right at about twenty degrees which we have done. And we set it up for approximately sixteen pounds of pull. And we do it for about thirty seconds and we set it up for twelve minutes and we start.
