"Hi. I'm Carmen Lynne with Expert Village and now for our final clip I'm going to talk to you about lucid dreams. Now somebody who is very expert on lucid dreams is a man named Stephen LaBerg and he actually runs the Lucidity Institute in Northern California. And he has been studying lucid dreams, as have I for many, many years. So what is a lucid dream? Well not only is it substantially more vivid than a regular dream, it really feels like you're there, you're actually awake in the dream. Which means you know that you're dreaming and that's why it can be so useful to have a lucid dream because, again, talking about the nightmares as we were earlier, you can be in a nightmare, wake up in the dream, realize you're in a nightmare and then in the dream actually make the dream end differently within the dream. You can turn around and face the monster and say, "I'm not afraid of you" or something like that. Or you can just say "oh I want to go flying, I want to do something fun" and you're literally in control of the dream. So that's what a lucid dream is. It's possible to train yourself in lucid dreaming to have more of them and one of the ways you can do that is to read these books like this one by Stephen LaBerg. And he actually has some instruments that he uses to help you do more lucid dreaming."
