Protein is found in so many foods and sometimes people worry especially vegetarians if they are not getting enough protein. But you will be so amazed if you start keeping track of all the protein that you're getting throughout the day when you start looking at all the foods in the food guide pyramid. If you focus in at this USDA in MyPyramid and look at the grains here these are foods that actually provide protein. A lot of people don't realize kamut is grain that provides a lot of protein. Vegetables and fruits they will sometimes provide a little bit of protein I wouldn't worry about those so much then you're counting your proteins. Milk the dairy group has also a lot of proteins cheese, milk and yogurt are great sources of protein. Then over here definitely I think people think of protein they usually think of meat but we know that the incidents of heart disease increasing we want to try to keep the meat consumption to an appropriate portion sizes. So of course you get great protein from the meat but also you get it from beans and you get protein from nuts and seeds. It's important to get a balance of all of those foods when you are trying to get the amount of proteins that you need on a daily bases.
