"Hi I'm Mario Amaya and on behalf of Expert Village and in this segment I'm going to talk to you about how to hold the flamenco guitar correctly. The old style of holding the flamenco guitar was like this suspended between the right arms and the right thigh and it's a very difficult position to master. It is very difficult on the right shoulder so in the last 30 or so years guitarist have been using this position with the right leg crossed over the left leg and the guitar just sitting here slightly supported by the right arm. With the neck kind of in front of the guitarist. The left hand has to be free to move around on the neck of the guitar so it should never be holding up the guitar.
