"Ok another fun cookware piece to make which is very similar to a casserole, so I'm including it in the same segment, is this steamer cooker. Now the difference between it and a casserole is that it has this spout on the inside. The hole goes all the way through to the bottom and this pot is actually placed on top of a boiling pot of water. It's got a lid and the steam comes up through here and heats, and actually the traditional dish to cook in this is a kind of a chicken soup. You have pieces of chicken and leeks and garlic and whatever you might want to have in there, and then the broth sort of forms as it cooks. It's a slow cooking thing, but there are a lot of other things. You can even steam vegetables in here. It serves a lot of purposes and it's a fun project to do. So I'm going to throw the base of this, and we're just going to take a chunk of clay that in this case is going to be about four and a quarter pounds which is fine. We'll get that wedged up just a tiny bit unless you have clay which needs to be de-aired in which case you'll want to wedge a lot, and then I'm going to put it into a ball and we're ready to throw it on the wheel."
