"Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you how to make this delicious pecan pie. Now that we have our pie crust all set the first step for the filling is chopping up some pecans. For the filling you are going to have a mixture of nuts with the other ingredients inside the pie as well as some half nuts decorating the top. But first we need to chop up the nuts for the filling, how you want to do this you can get yourself a chopping (cutting board) you do not want to be cutting on the counter top. You want to use a chefs knife something that has some hef to it because cutting nuts, they are not really soft. These are terribly hard nuts but you still need some hef behind the knife so you can get a good rhythm going and you are chopping through. You just want to use a rocking motion going back and forth don't worry about getting uniform pieces because it's not going to matter once they are mixed up. You just want to go back and forth cutting progressively smaller pieces of nuts so that no one is going to take a bite out of the pie and have all nuts and no other type of filling."
