"My name is John Mays. Some people refer to me as “Evil” John Mays. I’m a makeup effects artist and I’m here doing a demonstration for Expertvillage.com. We have with us Angie here today. She’s going to be the person that we’re going to be messing up in this process. What we have here is a stitch and being such a small appliance, I’ve made a little boat to put the adhesive in for it. It’s much easier this way then trying to brush it on. We give them a good little soaking and these are going to be the stitches that we’re going to put on her face. One of the reasons you do this as one of your first pieces is because this is going to take the longest to dry. We’ve got the little appliances here and most of this adhesive works by putting it both on the subject and on the appliance, so with that I’m going to just dab a little on her face. We’re putting adhesive on her face to help the appliance adhere. Now it goes on kind of milky looking, but that fades as it starts to dry. Nothing ever holds the way it’s supposed to, no matter what they say on the bottle, you’ll have to play with it. It says excellent hold, excellent holding capacity, and all this other stuff, but don’t be frustrated. Get a little bit on there, you have to apply and just kind of work it around. Put adhesive on her forehead for each one of these stitches. As things dry, you can tack down the other pieces that are giving you grief. If worst comes to worst, you can clip them off because only you’re going to know that it was supposed to be there. "
