"Hi! This is David Jackel on behalf of Expert Village, and I'm here to talk to you about preparing your body for your David Bowie costume. Now, there's more to looking like David Bowie than just having the clothing. You also have to get your body to match up, and that's not so easy because David Bowie is very skinny. At every period in his career was very, very skinny. He's got no facial hair except for a couple periods in his later years, but for the costumes you're going to want you're not going to want any facial hair. You're going to want to be really skinny, and that's not the easiest thing to always pull off so there are a couple things you can do. One thing you should definitely do if you haven't already done it is shave. You don't want to go as Ziggy Stardust and have a 5 o'clock shadow, or in my case, 4 day shadow. Another thing you can do if you're aren't really skinny and you don't feel like spending a lot of time in the gym, is getting a brace that you can use to just tighten up your stomach a little bit. If you've got big thick eyebrows, it wouldn't hurt to tweeze them up a little bit. A lot of guys are shy about doing stuff like that, but it's really a good idea and your girlfriend will appreciate it too. Also, if you're doing a costume where your chest is showing and you want to be really authentic, you're going to have to wax your chest. This is not something that I'm personally willing to do, so I'm not going to have a costume where my chest is showing. Also, if your legs are exposed, you're going to have to shave your legs too. If you don't feel like doing any of that, then definitely don't have the costume where you would have to do that. If your legs are exposed in your costume or your chest is exposed and you want to be right, you're going to have to suck it up and either wax or shaved that stuff. You don't have to actually look like David Bowie in order to get your body in shape for the costume. That's the whole idea of having a costume, but it's important to slim down or make yourself look slim and get rid of excess hair."
