on 8/22/2009 I think that this guy is too scared to put his face in the water blow bubbles. Like you have to blow bubbles swimming front stroke The Breast Stoke and the Butterfly stroke. Like in the section Breathing Techniques in swimming or The section on Breathing Counts in swimming, Peter never has his face in the water blowing bubbles. What is the worst thing that could happen to this guy? Gosh what a wimp.

on 8/22/2009 Trevor B. Meyer I wish that some one could teach me how to swim the back stroke and front stroke. I have never been taught the Front stroke or the Back stroke when I was a child. Why does this guy not show people that you have to blow bubbles when you float in the water or use a kick board when he shows you how to do a flutter kick with your head in the water? I wish that some one could how me how to do it the right way.

on 8/12/2009 This is exactly why sites like this should be renamed, ehownot. If everyone follows along with all the tips given in these lessons, the sport will be thrown back to the dark ages. I can't believe this stuff is actually posted. It HAS to be a gag by this guy.

on 3/14/2009 I cannot watch this any more. Please, please do not stay flat in the water. PLEASE, PLEASE, almost OVER ROTATE your body while doing free-style or backstroke. If you do not rotate your body as if you were a pig on a spit, then you can harm yourself (usually your rotator cuff(s)). You MUST rotate your body, moreover, on his physical demonstration, his arms were almost completely straight while above and below the water, this will do you HARM over a duration of time, all of that is incredibly stressful to your shoulders. You MUST rotate your body and you must keep your arms bent while in between both parts of the strokes "strech." Once again, I do not want to bash on this person, more importantly, I just want people to have the proper technique/information and I do not want people to injure themselves.

"In this section, this is the last and final section, so I'm kind of going to wrap everything up. So remember, on the freestyle swim I showed you how to the arms, your hands closed fingers--they're going to be like paddles, right--and your head is going to be straight. So, if you ever were to record yourself, which, if you wanted to, that would be great, or have someone just kind of record you if you wonder why, when you pick up your head, you're totally on the opposite side instead of going straight. I'll tell you what's happening. Your shoulders are moving. But if you think in your head, just keep them straight, and just move them as much as you can, stretched out but keeping your shoulders straight, then you're going to continuously go in a straight line. As well as your head. Whenever you move your head, it's literally just your head, not your shoulders. Do not move your entire body to swim. It's just your head to take a breath. So, now you're going to be in conjunction. Your legs are always flutter kicking, and then your arms are moving, and you're doing the breathing count. So it's one, two, three, breathe, one, two, three, breathe. So, one, two, three, breathe, one, two, three breathe. Okay, and then make sure that you're always kicking. You should always be kicking when you're swimming, so that you can move forward. And that's it. In this section we're basically just wrapping up freestyle. I'm glad you guys were able to tune in and pay attention to all the other steps. So, now I'm going to show you how to do the full arm movements, which I've shown you to close your hands, and to pull like an S, and to breathe every three strokes. So I'm going to show you every three strokes, and I'm going to show you my legs kicking. So here we go. And then I'm going to come back. And I hope you guys were able to learn how to do freestyle. So, remember, hands closed, you go in at an angle, you reach as forward as you can, don't ever rotate your shoulders or your body too much--just enough. And then make sure you always pull all the way back, and always keep your numbers counted three, five, or seven. And make sure you always flutter kick."
