"Sizing for a hybrid, I would be a little cautious about going by stand-over clearance, a lot of shops will put the person over the frame, tell them to lift the bike up and hope to see two or three inches of clearance standing over the frame. That would be fine if you were going to take this bike into the woods, however, often that means you'll be getting a bike that's too small for you in some cases. Hybrid's today are fairly short lengthwise. I've seen a lot of people sold bikes too small for them as far as hybrids go because of them being sold as fitted as aggressive off-road riding fits. I'd be cautious, always try a couple of sizes in a hybrid to be sure you get the one you're most comfortable on, you don't want to feel cramped lengthwise, nor do you want to feel too stretched out."
