Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to Start Menu and go to Control Panel. If you are opening control panel for the first time, it is good to switch it to ‘Classic View’ by clicking on it. (Check figure. For Vista, it is also located on left top corner)

  2. Step 2

This will change to classic view. Double click on ‘Sounds and Audio Devices’ to open it.

  3. Step 3

Click on the ‘Sounds’ tab of Sounds and Audio Devices properties window. And go to ‘Sound scheme’. From Drop down menu, click on ‘No Sounds’.

  4. Step 4

This will prompt a message ‘Save scheme……’. Click on ‘No’.
Click OK. And that’s all. This will disable windows startup and exit sounds and some other sounds of mouse clicks and such. (This does not mean that audio is disabled or set to mute, you can definitely play audio.)
