"The first movement in the chen style, 18 form, is called tai chi beginning or preparing for. First we let the arms hand at the sides. Be sure the chin is tucked. Weighting the right leg, stepping out with the left, left leg comes right underneath the left shoulder. The hands float up in front of the body, palms down, about eye level and return down. The weight moves to the right as the hands move up to the left. The weight moves off to the left, hands move to the right and right leg, right foot moves out. Weighting the right leg, the left leg comes up, stepping out to the left. Weight remains on the right, hands form a circle, left hand comes in front of the body, and right hand stays at the right leg."
